I say dear Board!!

One is hoping that Lady Phillips will be showing her appreciation of this sir in the near future through the purchasing of a new grinder.

Despite its awful name, one was thinking of a Rocky. But Hario (don't they make kiddy sweets?) - how does it compare in performance and value for the good wifes money?

Hario one is much more of a hand grinder and not really up to espresso but a great french press grinder. The rocky much more substantial (and of course more money)

Marvellous. One will drop her off at the docks/John Terrys home to work up some extra money then.

That would be excitedly thrusting my arms in the air above my head in excitement at the thought of the grinders being available.

I worry about what's in your mind sometimes Sir Leslie.

I say dear Pickles!!

Ah! Sincere apologies my good man.

That really does make a lot more sense!
Thanking you kindly for your concerns about ones mind, but there really is no need to worry.

To swing back around to stiring ;)

I've been experimenting with it these last few weeks. I 've found it really isn't necessary for my pour over, because the base is wide enough that a carefull pour at the start will wet all the brounds quite effectively. The Chemex on the other hand does seem to benefit from a bit of a stir. I've got the 1-3 cup size, so the filter ends up being quite thin and tall once there is enough coffee in there for my generous helpings :) A bit of gentle agitation with the handle of a teaspoon seems to do a good job of making sure the grounds at the bottom don't stay dry.
